About the musicians

Bach & Forth's goal in formulating their concert format continues to include the presentation of the old and new in music, and everything in between!

Trudy Craney, soprano, is known in the U.S.A. and internationally as a bel canto, baroque and contemporary soprano in the fields of opera, oratorio, orchestral works and song. Some of her appearances include works such as John Adams' Nixon in China (as Madame Mao) at Avery Fisher Hall, Houston Grand Opera, San Francisco Opera, The Edinburgh Festival, Netherlands Opera, Frankfurt Opera, Los Angeles Opera, Theatre Boboigny, and Brooklyn Academy of Music . Other venues are the Mai Musical Bordeaux, the Maryland Handel Festival, a European tour of 39 performances of Mozart's Die Zauberflote as the Queen of the Night, and Verdi's Rigoletto as Gilda, the title role of Lucia di Lammermoor, Die Entfuhrung aus dem Serai (Konstanze), and The
Fiery Angel (Prokofiev). A champion of contemporary song repertoire, Trudy has commissioned composer Noa Ain as well as Martin Hennessy to write song cycles. She premiered Noa Ain's one woman opera, Le Passion de Jean D'Arc at the Angel Orensantz Foundation, and Richard Einhorn's opera of same title with BAM's Next Wave Festival. While continuing to perform, Trudy teaches voice in Manhattan.
