Lex54 concerts presents the remarkable soprano Ah Young Hong. Her recital features a program of some of the 20th and 21st centuries most powerful and uncompromising music. The program will feature selections from György Kurtág's Kafka Fragments (where Ms. Hong will be joined by violinist Miranda Cuckson), the New York premiere of Michael Hersch’s song cycle, a breath upwards, and Milton Babbitt's daunting and rarely heard masterpiece, Philomel. Ms. Hong was most recently heard in New York in the 2014 world premiere of Hersch's acclaimed chamber opera, On the Threshold of Winter, at the Brooklyn Academy of Music.
